Force Ltd. was set up by a few building engineers with varying lengths of experience working for large state enterprises on June 24, 1991. They thought that in a changed
economic climate, under the conditions of an emerging market economy a smaller
organisation stood better chance than a large company, of winning contracts for the
planning organisation and implementation of various public utility construction
and civil engineering jobs. They thought that a small firm can be more
quick in implementing a job, more flexible in complying with customer
requirements and also less expensive of operation.
In the summer of 1991 the founders of Force Ltd. paid in one million forints equity capital. Apart from that money they only had their professional knowledge and healthy self-confidence for capital the letter being an asset
without which one can start a business, but there is not much point doing so.
Since the time of foundation, the company raised its equity several times - the last time on June 20, 1995 when the stake-holders increased it to HUF 10 million. While at the start the company only had leased equipment, it now has a rapidly expanding own machine park, including an 8-ton autocrane, five heavy-duty excavators, vibro-rollers,
compressors and diesel welding machines. Force Ltd. has ploughed back most of its profits and bought machinery.
A well-trained staff
However, it is not the assets and machine park of a company that determine what it can offer in the way of complex building and assembly jobs, and what standard of jobs it can guarantee, but rather the standard of knowledge and experience of its employees. Force Ltd. made the greatest step in the direction of developing
a qualified and dedicated workforce in May 1993. What used to be a handful of loyal employees, grew to a respectable force of over 40 qualified workers by a single stroke when Force Ltd. integrated several highly qualified technical professionals and skilled workers of the phased down technological unit of Mélyépítő Rt. Thanks to this move Force Ltd. now has 10 welders with international qualifications (TÜV).
What kind of jobs will Force Ltd. take?
- Complex implementation of public utility works, including the laying of water, remote heating or hydrocarbon pipelines, sewerage construction, the establishment of electric, telecommunication, telemechanical lines and systems.
- The construction and assembly of heating plants, heating centres, gas pressure regulators and transfer
- The construction of roads, water, transport and railway civil engineering structures, bridges, decorative
pavements, earth works, any civil engineering jobs,
- Construction engineering jobs.
On request, Force will prepare and have licensed the plans for all the above jobs.
What is the main asset of Force Ltd.?
The company’s main asset is the construction and assembly of hydrocarbon and remote heating pipe systems. The company lays special weight on complex finish, which means we cater for all minor jobs that may emerge in the course of fulfilment of a contract.
Besides excellent finish, customers also often require that the jobs cause the least amount of traffic disruption. Force Ltd. observes this requirement to the greatest possible extent. We have a work organisation system that permits us to comply with requests of this kind.
For example, we had a job of replacing the old remote heating ducts in the Buda Castle area and managed to do
organised work so well that traffic only had to be stopped for 15-minute periods.
It is common knowledge that natural gas and hydrocarbon pipes cannot stop service for a matter of days even. When our company was reconstructing a 400 mm MOL Rt. pipeline between Adony and Kereszthegy, we completed eight cross connections in a single day, working from 11.00 a.m.till 10.00 p.m., even though the individual connections were several kilometres apart. But at 10.00 p.m. gas was flowing again on the pipeline.
Force Ltd. has set the aim of becoming a strong medium size business. We intend to achieve that objective by keeping up professional standards and integrating new technologies. Besides, we shall continue to increase our working assets, as well.
We also have to enhance our marketing efforts. Besides strengthening the established contacts with domestic customers, including some major public utility companies and local governments, we seek to expand our goodwill and strengthen co-operation based on mutual benefits with large general contracting firms. Co-operation of this kind allows us to participate in projects which we in ourselves would not be able to implement in the lack of sufficient finances.
So far we have only had operations in Hungary, both as general and subcontractors. But now, we feel strong
enough to cross the borders and accept jobs abroad. Our future plans, therefore, also include
involvement in projects abroad.
